How to Match a Red Dress
Alexa Chung's quirky-sweet style combos never miss the mark. This latest one inspires a sexy-meets-girlie spin on the magic red dress. We spotted the fashionable Brit stepping out for Valentino in one of the designer's brilliantly hued, bow-sleeved little frocks. On its own, the dress offers a slightly sexy statement, but paired with cheeky, Charlotte Olympia cat-face flats, Alexa balances the sultry appeal with a touch of humor. As if we couldn't love it anymore, we're also lusting after her studded, leather Valentino arm candy. Loving it, too?
Most recently, Zoe Saldana outfitted a gorgeous take on cocktail dressing for The Hollywood Reporter and Jimmy Choo's 25 Most Powerful Stylists Luncheon. I love how she gave an intricate coral-hued Alexis Mabille frock a modern twist with eclectic add-ons - naturally, by Jimmy Choo. A snakeskin clutch and slick patent heels added interest, while a pretty pair of drop earrings, a metallic belt, and a gold-tinged anklet glammed up the style with just a little sparkle. Feeling inspired?
Bright, breezy Summer dress? Check. Walkable cool-girl footwear and an eye-catching, easy-to-tote bag? Check, check. With one look, Eva Mendes zeroed in on three - with her sunglasses, make that four - of our seasonal essentials and pulled them all together for the perfect ensemble. Obviously, it's not hard to make clothes look good when you're blessed with genes like Miss Mendes, but it's also the cool color combos and juxtaposition between an understated silhouette and high-impact footwear that make it work so well.
